About the role
This position focuses on diagnosing issues, enhancing managerial capabilities, and applying action-driven training solutions to elevate performance. The Training Manager implements newly developed training initiatives in partnership with the Learning and Development (L&D) team and serves as a subject matter expert (SME) on MasterCorp best practices. This role reports to Resort Operations Divisional Leadership and functions as a strategic partner to field teams, contributing to broader organizational talent development and operational goals.
Bilingual English/Spanish required. Heavy travel position—on average 50% travel monthly (overnight & weekends). Preferred locations: Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head, SC; Williamsburg, VA; Orlando, FL.
Responsibilities
- Utilize learning technologies to measure and enhance the effectiveness of training initiatives and track learning completion.
- Apply advanced methods to measure training effectiveness and recommend refinements based on site-specific feedback.
- Provide coaching and guidance to site leaders to create and execute operations action plans that enhance site effectiveness.
- In partnership with HR Business Partners (HRBPs), ensure alignment and consistency in leadership development strategies to support sustained training outcomes and operations goals.
- Employ critical analysis and logical reasoning to evaluate complex situations and solve high-impact problems, ensuring decisions support strategic objectives.
- Demonstrate a high degree of self-management and initiative, effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Conduct site-level assessments using tools such as the Operations Visit Guide to identify training gaps and recommend actionable solutions.
- Regularly audit training processes at various sites to ensure consistency and adherence to company standards.
- Provide periodic evaluations of Lead Supervisors and report monthly on certification metrics.
- Maintain detailed records of training completion, attendance, and certifications, leveraging operational metrics to measure training efficacy and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with Field HR and Divisional Operations Leadership to determine visit priorities and assess site training needs holistically, ensuring alignment with operational goals.
- Participate in preparations and create site opening plans to train all new associates and managers in partnership with key stakeholders.
- Help schedule and facilitate H2B/J1 transitions, onboarding, and training.
- Collaborate with divisional leadership to prioritize training efforts, support new site launches, and address challenges at underperforming sites.
- Support the implementation of comprehensive training programs that align with organizational goals and are consistently applied across all locations.
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, HR, or related field, or equivalent relatable work experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in operations leadership, training management, or similar roles focused on enhancing site performance within the hospitality industry.
- Skilled in conducting engaging and effective virtual and in-person facilitation sessions.
- Conversationally fluent in English and Spanish or Creole.
- Effective knowledge of adult learning principles, presentation skills, and demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Strong proven ability to diagnose training needs and develop tailored action plans in collaboration with site leaders.
- Ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to self-manage schedule and time effectively and efficiently.
- Proficient in learning technologies, Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
