About the role
As the Operations Training Manager in Milpitas, CA, you will oversee and direct manufacturing operations for a shift or group of production lines, ensuring they meet volume, quality, and cost goals. Reporting to the Director of Quality, you will develop and implement training programs that support talent development and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Conduct annual Training Needs Investigations and revise the company training plan to support talent development and advancement.
- Plan, design, and develop relevant training programs using renowned methodologies.
- Develop and conduct evaluations of training performance.
- Create and manage follow-up action plans to reinforce the transfer of business skills from training programs into daily work.
- Advise management on training and development initiatives to meet local needs.
- Implement HR strategies to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.
- Review and develop Training and Development procedures.
- Ensure training programs align with organizational requirements and maintain strong communication with the management team.
- Utilize data and investigations to identify, measure, and track the effectiveness of training and learning activities.
- Research past and current training requirements to prepare budgets and justify funds.
- Develop, coordinate, and conduct training plan implementation.
- Initiate corrective actions and continuous improvement processes for training systems, processes, and programs.
- Design and deliver customized training solutions based on client requests.
- Select appropriate instructional procedures or methods, such as individual training, group instruction, self-study, lectures, demonstrations, simulation exercises, role play, and computer-based training.
- Organize and develop training manuals, reference libraries, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.
- Maintain relationships with consulting companies and select suitable external resources.
- Conduct new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward company goals.
Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of training experience.
- Previous managerial and manufacturing experience.
- Experience with training management tracking.
- Training certifications (preferred).
- A Master’s or MBA is preferred.
