Responsibilities
- Production & Installation Management
- Work directly with the Operations employees
- Manage logistics including shipping, receiving, PACK, and communication to cross docks
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise the performance of the operations teams under the direction of the District Manager (DM)
- Supervise Installation function, reviewing sales orders to ensure financial and logistical criteria are met
- Oversee daily planning/scheduling of the Operations team’s manpower and materials
- Perform customer service duties, such as resolving warranty issues by scheduling work to satisfy the customer and repair Tuff Shed products
- Assist the DM with daily, weekly, and monthly corporate document submittals
- Operate the Factory efficiently to produce assigned and expected profitability
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels to maximize production and control labor costs as budgeted
- Conduct fabricator employees’ performance evaluations and prepare disciplinary actions under the direction of the DM
- Ensure building quality, communication, and customer experience align with Company expectations and brand impact
- Manage the Company’s Warranty Program and ensure timely repairs
- Safety
- Perform daily safety walk-through inspections of the Shop area and Yard
- Implement and carry out the Company’s Safety Programs and ensure compliance with DOT regulations
- Prepare, schedule, and lead store safety meetings, trainings, and work-related injury investigations as required by OSHA guidelines and Tuff Shed Safety Department
- Ensure tools and equipment are secured, inventoried, maintained, and meet safety requirements
- Inventory/Materials
- Perform monthly cycle counts and ongoing inventory management
- Conduct monthly physical inventory counts to certify accuracy
- Order materials in a timely manner to meet production schedules while minimizing inventory costs
- Negotiate and develop relationships with local suppliers to purchase materials at or below standard cost
- Subcontractor/Installer Relationship
- Recruit and onboard subcontractors to surpass 35% of the store’s revenue budget
- Inspect the quality of work performed by subcontractors to meet or exceed Tuff Shed’s finished product quality expectations
Requirements
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment (preferred)
- Proven experience in successful business-to-consumer sales of large-ticket products
- Proven leadership and relationship-building skills, including experience managing employees and resolving employee relations issues
- DOT, OSHA, and employment law knowledge (highly preferred)
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, including with customers, business partners, suppliers, co-workers, managers, and the general public
- Ability to solve complex business problems using sound logic and good judgment
- Ability to read, write, and understand instructions given orally, in writing, and in diagram form
- Ability to prepare written correspondence and reports that create a professional image for Tuff Shed
- Ability to use mathematical, accounting, and financial tools as they apply to Tuff Shed business
