About the role
As a Bid Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving sales success by managing and coordinating the bid process for your respective branch(es). This role involves developing and implementing effective bid strategies, ensuring that all proposals are tailored to meet client needs and align with the company's objectives. You will build strong relationships with branch and practice leadership, producers, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and provide solutions for business challenges and process improvements. You will work closely with Senior Bid Managers to align on divisional strategies and ensure that all initiatives are executed effectively.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage complex draft documents and a high volume of projects autonomously, ensuring high-quality work products.
- Develop complex and strategic sales collateral that is well-written, accurate, consistent, in brand, and responsive, reflecting customer-specific themes.
- Collaborate with other team members to gather necessary information and insights for project development.
- Develop project timelines and modify standard content to best respond to questions and ensure compliance with project and RFP requirements.
- Review and edit proposal content for grammar, clarity, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and resources to meet tight deadlines.
- Collaborate with other teams to create visually appealing and professional proposal documents.
- Assemble appendix items and supporting documents for RFPs.
- Create and revise Gallagher branded PowerPoint presentations to support proposal development and sales strategies.
- Consult with producers to recommend appropriate products and tools that align with client needs and proposal requirements.
- Maintain a friendly, get-it-done attitude to foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with branch partners, serving as a trusted, approachable point of contact.
- Provide helpful, solution-focused support while reinforcing team processes, standards, and boundaries.
- Identify content for graphic development to submit to the Creative Team.
- Provide updated proposal responses for inclusion in the RFP database.
- Identify and contact Subject Matter Experts to gather accurate information for proposals, when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3+ years of insurance industry and proposal development experience, with employee benefits experience preferred.
- Superior writing and editing skills, with excellent communication skills and a customer service mindset.
- Advanced knowledge of proposal processes and proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; proposal software experience preferred.
- Ability to work closely with multi-functional teams to develop customer-specific proposal strategies.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously.
