Job Summary

The Benefits Specialist is the initial point of contact for all individuals seeking voluntary services during the Outpatient Service Center (OSC) hours of operation. The Benefits Specialist is responsible for answering phone calls routed through the facility and connecting callers to the appropriate staff or facility based on their needs. This position is responsible for obtaining insurance and co-pay information for services, maintaining contact with referral sources, and communicating co-payment information with the CBI Billing Department. The Benefits Specialist is also responsible for obtaining and documenting patient's referral and demographic information in the electronic health record (EHR).

Skills/Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or higher preferred.
  • 3 years of experience with insurance verification and/or front desk experience in a medical office setting preferred.
  • Minimum of six months of recovery from substance use and/or mental health disorders preferred.
  • Valid identification required.
