Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for all benefit inquiries, independently managing and resolving issues related to medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D, disability, FSA, voluntary benefits, EAP and wellness, COBRA, paid-time-off (PTO), and Holidays.
- Cook up and execute specific phases of the annual benefit open enrollment, including communication development, event logistics, and post-enrollment data validation.
- Analyze and reconcile monthly benefit plan invoices, investigating and resolving any discrepancies to ensure accurate and timely payments to vendors.
- Lead weekly benefits presentations during New Employee Orientation, effectively communicating plan details and answering new hire questions.
- Ensure the accurate and compliant processing of all new hire benefit elections, life event changes, and employee terminations within HRIS and vendor systems.
- Manage benefits communication efforts by drafting and promoting all benefits programs, including updating internal resources such as intranet pages, FAQs, and benefits guides.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables) for tracking, reporting, and analysis. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to quickly learn and efficiently use various online vendor portals and benefits administration systems.
- Interpersonal Skills: Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup culture – comfort with ambiguity and continuous problem solving. Works cooperatively and positively with fellow team members and vendors. Demonstrates initiative, critical thinking, and the ability to manage own time, coupled with the ability to shift tasks as priorities change. Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills to effectively communicate benefit information at all levels. Maintains confidentiality and exercises good judgment with sensitive information.
Physical Requirements
- Primarily an office-based role requiring the ability to sit for extended periods of time while working at a computer. Ability to use a computer, keyboard mouse and other standard office equipment for prolonged periods of time. Ability to occasionally stand, walk, reach, bend, and carry light objects. May require occasional travel to company sites or other meetings that involve walking through office, industrial or construction environments.
Shift Expectations
- Standard work hours: Monday through Friday 9am to 6pm (onsite)
