Benefits Manager, North America
Responsibilities
Lead benefit program strategy by analyzing market trends, benchmarking plan competitiveness, and recommending enhancements or new offerings that support attraction and retention goals.
Manage major benefits projects such as Open Enrollment, ACA reporting, 401(k) nondiscrimination testing, and annual audits ensuring timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional coordination are met with precision.
Oversee vendor relationships by evaluating performance, negotiating renewals, monitoring service levels, and ensuring brokers, carriers, and record-keepers deliver high-quality support and value.
Partner with HR teams across North America to troubleshoot benefit issues, align on policy interpretation, and ensure consistent administration across U.S. and Canadian locations.
Develop benefits communication including dashboards, guides, presentations, and training sessions that help employees and HR partners understand plan features, enrollment processes, and leave administration.
Ensure compliance by monitoring regulatory changes, maintaining documentation, supporting required filings, and ensuring all plans operate in accordance with federal, state, provincial, and company standards.
Maintain SOPs and systems documentation to support accurate, scalable, and audit-ready benefits operations, including updates tied to system changes or new plan implementations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
PHR, SHRM-CP, or CEBS certification a plus.
6+ years of progressive benefits experience, including U.S. and Canadian regulatory knowledge.
Experience in global organizations, M&A, healthcare, hearing healthcare, or multi-unit retail a plus.
Continuous improvement or change-management experience a plus.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate across teams and levels.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of integrated benefits and HRIS systems (ADP preferred).
Qualifications
A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova.

Pay
This role's pay range is between: $95,000 - $110,000. This role is also bonus eligible.
