Benefits Manager - Human Resources

About the role
We are seeking a Benefits Manager to assist with the administration of all benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and wellness plans. As part of the HR team, you will partner closely with our HR Director to manage the benefits and wellness plans within the firm.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary contact for employees, respond to benefits inquiries on plan provisions, enrollment, status changes, and other general inquiries
- Provide customer service support to internal and external customers including carriers and third-party administrators
- Effectively interpret FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities; partner with leave administrators to process employee LOAs
- Administer the firm’s workers compensation program and process ergonomic requests
- Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information
- Process life events within the HRIS
- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required billing reconciliation, reporting, and fees
- Develop communication tools to enhance the understanding of the firm’s benefits package
- Oversee maintenance of employee benefits, maintain HRIS, and update employee payroll records as needed
- Assist with orientations and open enrollment by designing, presenting, and distributing materials to stakeholders
- Partner with the payroll team to perform quality checks of benefits-related data
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations concerning benefits administration, including compliance reporting for carriers
- Collaborate with HR leadership to align benefits programs with organizational goals and employee needs
- Conduct regular audits of benefits plans to ensure accuracy and effectiveness
- Other tasks or duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration or a related area
- Experience in UKG required
- Experience with Cocoon or another external leave administrator preferred
- Strong knowledge of benefits regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, and ACA
- Experience with open enrollment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficiency in HRIS and benefits management software
- Ability to be flexible and change direction quickly
Pay
The expected salary range for this position is $130,000 - $140,000 per year. Actual placement within this range is determined by the candidate’s experience, qualifications, education, and geographic area.
