Overview Benefits Coordinator – Employee Benefits Location - Hybrid - Deerfield or Downers Grove, IL At Alera Group, our Employee Benefits team helps employers design, implement, and support programs that care for people and strengthen organizations. We’re seeking a Benefits Coordinator, Spending Accounts who will provide direct support in system setup and day-to-day service requests, ensuring a seamless client experience and operational accuracy. The Benefits Coordinator collaborates closely with internal teams, carriers, producers, and clients to ensure timely, accurate, and professional service. Responsibilities What You’ll Do / Your Impact Client Partnership & Risk Strategy Support clients with coverage placement, renewals, claims coordination, policy analysis and day to day service needsServe as a key point of contact for routine client service inquiries and coordinate activities with internal and external partnersCollaborate with carriers and internal teams to resolve enrollment billing and claims issuesContribute to retention and growth initiatives by delivering consistent and responsive client service Operational Excellence Maintain documentation in agency management systems including client records correspondence and policy informationEnsure compliance with internal workflows regulatory requirements and policy accuracy standardsSupport audits reporting and administrative processes related to client accountsCoordinate service tasks across internal teams to ensure timely and accurate execution of deliverablesAssist with enrollment processing eligibility updates and benefits program administration Strategic Contribution Assist in identifying coverage gaps or risk mitigation strategies and support improvements in service deliveryPartner on new business opportunities by supporting data gathering carrier submissions and renewal activitiesContribute to workflow improvements and process documentation to enhance efficiency and consistencySupport preparation of client materials presentations and reporting as needed Qualifications What You Bring Required Strong client service skills and ability to manage multiple accounts or projectsKnowledge of medical dental vision life and disability benefit programsStrong communication collaboration and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment Preferred Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experienceTwo plus years of experience in employee benefits administration insurance brokerage or related fieldLife and Health insurance license or ability to obtainExperience with agency management systems and Microsoft Office tools including ExcelUnderstanding of compliance and regulatory requirements related to employee benefits Core Competencies Detail orientationAccountability and follow throughCollaborative mindsetClient first thinkingStrong organizational and problem solving skills Additional Information Compensation - Salary range - $55,000 – $65,000 per year Benefits - Alera Group offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability coverage, 401(k), generous PTO, and more.
