About the role

The Benefits Administrator provides support to participants in the Baker Benefits Plan and assists with the administration of health & welfare and retirement benefits for US-based attorneys and professional staff, as well as select benefits for attorneys outside the US.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the administration of the Baker Benefits Plan, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, defined contribution (401(k)), and defined benefit (cash balance) plans.
  • Provide administrative support for leave of absence programs as needed.
  • Maintain vendor file feeds and coordinate with vendors on requirements and changes to all data transfers.
  • Participate in the management of the annual enrollment process and develop communications with stakeholders.
  • Provide support to external auditors for the annual benefit plans audit (insurance and retirement).
  • Work with benefit plan partners to verify employee data when requested and for all annual compliance requests, including ACA reporting.
  • Process new hires and mid-year life changes, and electronically maintain employee benefit files.
  • Audit eligibility changes/files to ensure timely notification to vendors.

Qualifications

  • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Strong experience in Benefits Administration.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel-generated reports.
  • Knowledgeable of all Health and Welfare plans and voluntary programs.
  • HRIS experience is preferred.
