The Ohio Department of Youth Services (DYS) is the juvenile corrections system for the state of Ohio. DYS is statutorily mandated to confine felony offenders, ages 10-21, who have been adjudicated and committed by one of Ohio's 88 county juvenile courts. During their stay with DYS, youth are engaged in programming designed to address their criminological and behavioral needs. About the Role

This position is located at Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility. The Behavioral Healthcare Provider Supervisor 1 will lead and oversee behavioral health services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality treatment and programs for youth.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, coordinate, implement, monitor, and evaluate behavioral health services (BHS) treatment and programs.
• Supervise behavioral healthcare providers, oversee treatment activities, and coordinate with other behavioral healthcare personnel.
• Provide training, supervision, evaluation, counseling, and case management for staff.
• Offer guidance and support through regular training and behavioral health staff meetings.
• Perform personnel management tasks, including recruitment, interviewing, training, and recommendations for hire.
• Design, implement, and monitor risk management activities specific to treatment interventions; facilitate or co-facilitate groups.
• Collaborate with Unit Management and Medical Staff to ensure continuous delivery of services and joint record-keeping.
• Respond to inquiries from institutions, regions, courts, and other entities regarding youth concerns, including transfers, abuse allegations, and post-release programming.
• Serve as a liaison and consultative support to all facilities and regional offices for BHS operations.
• Act as DYS facility liaison to state, local, and community agencies focused on behavioral health services for youthful offenders.
• Serve on committees (e.g., program development, policy formulation).
• Maintain and develop a network of programs with other facilities, agencies, and support services to coordinate referrals and conduct follow-up services.

Requirements

• Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
• In addition to licensure, must have one of the following:
  • 12 months of experience providing clinical supervision in behavioral healthcare services (e.g., counseling, group services, crisis intervention).
  • 12 months of experience as a Behavioral Healthcare Provider 2 (65832).
  • 12 months of experience as a Correctional Program Coordinator (69323).

Pay

$36.75 - $52.27 per hour, with a 20% supplement for this position.

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week.

Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility, Massillon, OH (Stark County).
