Behavioral Health Technician (Full Time)

About the role

This position is at Pyramid Healthcare's Traditions House. This location is a men's halfway house located in Altoona, PA. Shift: 2nd (3:00 pm - 11:00 pm) and 3rd (11:00 pm - 7:00 am). Pay: $15.00/hour plus shift differential.

Summary

An essential role in the delivery of residential and outpatient treatment services. Direct care position with a primary responsibility of interacting with and supervising clients in treatment. Assists in the clinical and administrative teams to identify and serve client needs. Evaluates behavioral and emotional needs of clients and provides response including crisis intervention. Maintains safe, clean, and orderly physical environment. Assists with the dietary needs of clients. Completes all required trainings. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Required Qualifications

• Licensure, Education, & Experience: High School diploma or equivalent. Prefer behavioral health experience or general healthcare experience.
• Job Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to problem solve by gathering and analyzing information. Ability to handle a crisis and or potential risk situation and react appropriately. A working knowledge of federal and state standards as well as regulating body and compliance standards. Upholding staff code of ethics and therapeutic boundaries.
• Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds. The employee must seldom carry up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet & indoors. This position will require local travel. This position will be scheduled based on operational need & will be required to provide own transportation.
• Incumbent may be exposed to virus, disease, and/or infection from clients in the work environment. Incumbent may be exposed to traumatic situations (i.e. psychiatric).
