Behavioral Health Clinical Coordinator - Bautista House
Position Summary
The Crisis Respite Center is a five bed JCAHO accredited adult crisis respite facility located in Bethel, Alaska. The individual in this position will provide direct integrated clinical services to the residents of YKHC's Behavioral Health Crisis Respite Center. The individual in this position will also supervise, train staff, and coordinate client care in a manner consistent with policies and procedures. The individual in this position will also facilitate the provision of a safe, healthy, structured environment; engage clients and families a therapeutic alliance, and function as an active member of the multi-disciplinary integrated Behavioral Health treatment team.
Position Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Nursing with specialty in Mental Health.
Two- (2) years supervised experience providing various behavioral health direct clinical care services performed at a satisfactory level.
Experience in a cross-cultural setting preferable with Native American cultures.
Licensed or licensable by the State of Alaska in their respective profession.
Expected to have functional skills w/ standard array of contemporary office equipment, and general knowledge of basic facility health and safety maintenance issues.
Knowledge and understanding of the impact of mental illness and emotional distress on individuals and their families.
Respect for the well being and safety of individuals with mental and emotional impairments.
Knowledge of and ability to implement treatment planning format utilized in a behavioral health residential/crisis respite facility.
Knowledge and understanding of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders and ability to formulate and document its Five Axis diagnostic format.
Ability to provide psycho social assessment , treatment, and discharge planning services to adults in various states of emotional and mental turmoil.
Excellent human relations; ability to direct and coordinate staff and staff training and development; good verbal/written communications skills, work processing, spreadsheets; ability to treat clients and co-workers courteously and fairly, ability to do time management facility budgeting and facility grant management.
Theoretical knowledge of the nursing process, care management, and continuity of care.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent draw and interpret bar graphs, and maintain a computer, database.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Has responsibility for direct supervision of facility staff and can delegate that authority to other facility staff when appropriate.
