BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CLINICIAN/PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Responsibilities

  • Follows prescribed treatment recommendations/contract referred by USP.
  • Proficient communication and Reporting to USP Probation systems.
  • Provides mental health assessments, substance abuse assessments, individual and group sessions for mental health and substance abuse.
  • Makes sure urine drops (same sex) are monitored as scheduled, completes UA required reporting and paperwork, and orders supplies.
  • Offers mental health consultation during weekly clinical staff meetings and/or at other times as needed.
  • Collaborates in coordinating referrals of patients to psychiatric/psychological services and medication monitoring.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed clinical records reflecting services provided to patients.
  • Collects and verifies client information necessary to support the billing process.
  • Assesses and evaluates patient needs and develops individualized treatment plans that include measurable and achievable treatment goals, treatment plan reviews, and discharge planning.
  • Ensures contract compliance and conducts audits.
  • Aids in the Agency’s Performance Improvement Program as requested.
  • Performs all job functions in a professional manner.
  • Performs all job functions consistent with confidentiality regulations, ethical practices, and Agency policies and mission.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Has a good, working knowledge of the psychiatric/psychological/mental health, and substance abuse fields.
  • Thorough knowledge, as evidenced by training, of the fields of addiction and mental illness.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, staff, and the public.
  • Grant-funded position.

Education

  • Master’s Degree in social services or related field required.
  • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license preferred.
  • Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) preferred.

Experience

  • Has worked a minimum of one (1) year with patients who have alcohol or other drug addictions and mental health.
