Behavioral Health Access Representative

Key Essential Functions And Accountabilities Of The Job

  • Greet and assists patients and family members at the designated facility.
  • Checks patients in and out for appointments and schedules follow up appointments as needed or directed.
  • Collections, verifies, and enters demographic, financial and/or insurance information and accurately enters the information into the electronic health record to ensure prompt and accurate billing.
  • Screens patients for priority risks and raises questions and concerns on complex patient situations to the clinic supervisor(s).
  • Processes, accepts, and tracks referrals/consults for clinic.
  • Schedules appointments for intakes and ensures all documentation is completed.
  • Assigns the patient for an assessment, collects required consents, and calls clients for appointments.
  • Reviews collected documentation for accuracy, reviews Intake Packet for completion and accuracy, reviews Annual Consents, and scans documents.
  • Follows the highest standards of SEARHC mission, vision, and values, remains calm and supportive, and maintains confidentiality.
  • Works collaboratively with peers and/or colleagues, aiding as needed to meet the needs of patients and organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 45 days for residential sites.
  • First Aid required for residential sites.
  • 2 years of office experience preferred.
  • Medical office experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Verbal and written communication.
  • Problem solving.
  • Time management, organization, and customer service.
  • Data entry with a high degree of accuracy and detail orientation.
  • Ability to prioritize work and multi-task in a fast-paced office setting with many interruptions.
