Key Essential Functions And Accountabilities Of The Job
- Greet and assists patients and family members at the designated facility.
- Checks patients in and out for appointments and schedules follow up appointments as needed or directed.
- Collections, verifies, and enters demographic, financial and/or insurance information and accurately enters the information into the electronic health record to ensure prompt and accurate billing.
- Screens patients for priority risks and raises questions and concerns on complex patient situations to the clinic supervisor(s).
- Processes, accepts, and tracks referrals/consults for clinic.
- Schedules appointments for intakes and ensures all documentation is completed.
- Assigns the patient for an assessment, collects required consents, and calls clients for appointments.
- Reviews collected documentation for accuracy, reviews Intake Packet for completion and accuracy, reviews Annual Consents are collected and in patient EHR, and scans documents and ensures that all information is uploaded to the proper location.
- Collects necessary paperwork that needs to be collected from patients, checks printers/fax machines and ensures confidential content is not left out, shreds confidential material, prepares necessary paperwork, and maintains confidentiality of all verbal, written, and electronic forms of communication or information sharing.
- Follows the highest standards of SEARHC mission, vision, and values, remains calm and supports clients when they appear upset or overwhelmed, and remains culturally aware, and valuing others cultural differences as well as their strengths.
- Talks respectfully to clients, staff, and supervisors without exception.
- Works collaboratively with peers and/or colleagues, aiding as needed to meet the needs of patients and organizational goals.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 45 days for residential sites (Raven's Way in Juneau and SUDs in Sitka).
- First Aid required for residential sites (Raven's Way in Juneau and SUDs in Sitka).
- 2 years of office experience preferred.
- Medical office experience preferred.
