Before and After School Care Teacher, St. Francis Cabrini, Tacoma

Responsibilities

• Run the Extended Care program in a manner that creates a true team dynamic.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior.
• Create an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Be aware of and responsive to the special needs of individual students.
• Check students’ homework.
• Help maintain individual attendance records for each student in compliance with the Oregon Department of Child Care.
• Help maintain order in the classroom; monitor students to keep them on task.
• Provide individual and small-group instructional attention.

Required Candidate Qualifications

• Ability to effectively communicate with parents/guardians on a regular basis.
• Ability to complete a successful background check.
• Must have a current First Aid/CPR certificate.
• Must be willing to update certification.
• Other requirements as designated by the Archdiocese of Seattle and St. Frances Cabrini Church.

Pay

Salary: $21–24/hour. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.

Schedule

Part-time, 25 hours/week, split shift: 6:30 am–8:15 am and 2:45 pm–6:00 pm. Additional hours each month available on school half-days.
