After School Care Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and responsible individual to join our team as an afterschool care teacher at Midland Christian School. This position plays a crucial role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for students after regular school hours.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times during afterschool hours
• Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, games, and crafts that promote physical, social, and emotional development
• Assist students with completing homework assignments and provide academic support when needed
• Oversee snack time and ensure snacks provided align with school policies, which may include considerations for allergies and dietary restrictions
• Maintain open and effective communication with parents, teachers, and school administration regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns that may arise
• Integrate Christian values into daily activities and interactions with students, promoting spiritual growth and character development
• Ensure that the afterschool care area is kept clean, organized, and safe at all times

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Previous experience working in a leadership role within an educational or childcare setting
• Strong understanding of Christian principles and a commitment to integrating them into program activities and interactions
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with young children, preferably in a preschool or early childhood education setting
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Schedule

This is a part-time position, typically Monday through Friday, from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Exact hours may vary based on school needs and activities.
