Afterschool Care Teacher

About This Role

Science Akadémeia, The Atlanta Preschool of Science in Alpharetta, GA is seeking a qualified Afterschool Care Teacher to work with Preschool (3–5) in a school-based pre-k environment. This position requires no formal credential — just relevant experience.

What You'll Do

• Supervise students during aftercare hours and ensure a safe, inclusive environment at all times.
• Plan and facilitate age-appropriate enrichment activities (play, art, games, quiet time).
• Aid with snack distribution and maintain classroom cleanliness.
• Foster positive social-emotional development and conflict resolution.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and communicate any incidents to the Director.
• Collaborate with other team members and contribute to a positive staff culture.
• Follow all licensing and safety procedures, including child pick-up protocols.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; CDA or early childhood education coursework is a plus.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or educational setting.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Must pass background check and fingerprinting.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor.
• Passion for working with children and commitment to Science Akadémeia’s mission.

Benefits

This Afterschool Care Teacher role pays $15 to $17/Hr. It is a Part Time position.
