Bartender
General Purpose
Makes and serves guests delicious beverages in accordance with established standards and with hospitality and professionalism. Creates memorable dining experiences through personalized and genuine interactions.
Essential Duties
- Stocks bar, mixes and serves alcoholic beverages, assists in cost control, inventory and maintains inventory records.
- Affords assistance in the creation of seasonal cocktails and menu development.
- Affords assistance in the creation and scheduling of social media content.
- Maintains inventory control through conscientious use and careful monitoring of all food and beverage products.
- Communicates with management in a timely manner when supplies are needed.
- Ensures compliance with applicable state liquor laws and standard operating procedures provided by the management.
- Communicates guest requests and concerns to the Department Manager.
- Performs opening and closing duties which include, but are not limited to inventory, cash control, cleaning, and restocking.
- Accountable for checks and cash transactions.
- Utilizes Point of Sales System.
- Reviews banquet schedule for changes, calendar of events, and special events.
- Serves catered parties from service or portable bars. On occasion will serve meals to guests.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience in restaurant point-of-sale (POS) systems (e.g. POSITOUCH and MICROS).
Physical Demands
- Frequently stands, walks, talks, hears, and uses hands.
- Regularity reaches with hands and arms.
- Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches; tastes, smells and sits.
- Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally may lift up to 50 pounds.
Certificates/Licenses
- ServSafe Certified (Food & Alcohol) or TIPS equivalent.
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, beer and current trends in industry and marketplace.
- Possesses the knowledge of cocktail recipes.
- Professional and courteous demeanor.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to company values.
- Exceptional personal hygiene and positive representation of the organization to Troon employees, clients and vendors.
- Fluent in English speaking, writing and understanding.
- Must meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages.
