Bartender

About the role

We are seeking a Full-Time Bartender to join our passionate culinary team at the Epicurean Hotel. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mixology, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Create exceptional guest experiences by serving beverages, offering extensive knowledge of cocktails, wines, and spirits, and providing superior customer service.
• Contribute to maintaining a memorable and refined atmosphere for all patrons.
• Prepare a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to recipe standards and guest specifications.
• Demonstrate knowledge of craft cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits.
• Provide exceptional and personalized guest service, engaging with customers to make recommendations, answer questions, and ensure satisfaction with every order.
• Adhere to all food and beverage regulations, including responsible alcohol service, health and safety guidelines, and hotel policies.
• Absorb and maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area throughout the shift, including workstations, utensils, and bar equipment.
• Work seamlessly with bar staff, servers, and kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
• Offer informed recommendations to enhance guest experiences, including upselling premium options and menu pairings.
• Accurately manage guest tabs, process payments, and balance cash drawers at the end of each shift.
• Assist with private events, themed nights, and other hotel programming requiring bar service.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) years of bartending experience in a high-end or fast-paced restaurant or hotel setting
• Strong knowledge of mixology techniques, cocktail recipes, and wine/spirit pairings
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and team members
• Able to handle a high-volume environment with a positive attitude and quick thinking
• TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) or similar responsible alcohol service certification preferred
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Experience working in a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant is a plus
