Bariatric Scheduler/Receptionist
About the role
The Bariatric Receptionist & Scheduler (BRS) will serve as the front office representative, greeting and fulfilling process requirements during office appointments. The BRS will promote an image of professionalism in all areas of representation and will function in a courteous and efficient manner. Excellent customer service skills both via phone and in person are pertinent and must be maintained, as well as sensitivity to the unique needs of the bariatric patient population.
Responsibilities
- Personal handling of incoming calls when possible, or directing them to the relevant staff member in a timely manner.
- Determining the priority level of each call and acting accordingly.
- Maintaining patient and provider appointment schedules in various formats, including Electronic Medical Record keeping.
- Ensuring all required patient data is maintained and up to date for billing and medical records compliance, as well as any other purposes.
- Meeting specific needs to comply with unique scheduling criteria as part of the bariatric department’s accreditation standards.
- Working responsibly as part of a team and being able to function independently, demonstrating problem-solving and problem-prevention skills.
- Handling multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and a thorough attention to detail.
- Developing an organizational system for areas of responsibility to support the BRS's success.
- Assuming additional duties as necessary to enhance the bariatric program.
Requirements
Must have excellent customer service skills both via phone and in person, with a focus on sensitivity to the unique needs of the bariatric patient population. Must be able to handle multiple tasks at once while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, particularly in a receptionist/scheduler role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is beneficial.
Skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Attention to detail and accuracy.

Pay
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour based on experience.
Schedule
Full-time position, 40 hours per week. Flexible schedule within standard business hours.
