About the role

The Westin Tempe is looking for an On-Call Banquet Houseperson to join our Banquet Team. This role involves servicing food and beverages to guests around the rooftop pool and cabanas, as well as setting up, breaking down, and servicing all meeting rooms and spaces. Tasks are to be handled in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Set up, break down, and service all meeting rooms and banquet spaces
• Service food and beverages to guests around the rooftop pool and cabanas
• Handle various types of equipment and setup styles used in meeting rooms (e.g., different table types such as round, schoolroom)
• Lift and move multiple tables, chairs, and podiums weighing up to 100 lbs. through crowded rooms
• Grasp, lift, carry, or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 500 lbs.
• Perform considerable physical activity on a continuous basis throughout the shift for room setup and breakdown
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times
• Communicate well with guests
• Collaborate with coworkers and pitch in to help as a team player
