On-Call - Banquet Houseperson - Westin Tempe

About the role

The Westin Tempe is looking for an On-Call Banquet Houseperson to join our Banquet Team. This role involves servicing food and beverages to guests around our rooftop pool and cabanas, as well as setting up, breaking down, and servicing all meeting rooms and spaces. Responsibilities

• Set up, break down, and service all meeting rooms and spaces
• Service food and beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner
• Handle room setups including various table types (round, schoolroom, etc.) and equipment

Requirements

• Ability to communicate in English
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times
• Strong communication skills with guests
• Willingness to pitch in and help co-workers; strong team player
• Knowledge of various types of equipment and setup styles used in meeting rooms
• Ability to lift and move multiple tables, chairs, and podiums weighing up to 100 lbs. through a crowded room
• Considerable physical activity on a continuous basis throughout the shift for room setup and breakdown
• Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or otherwise move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 500 lbs.
