Responsibilities
- Represent creditors, lenders, fiduciaries, and other stakeholders in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and related insolvency proceedings.
- Draft and argue motions, objections, and other pleadings in bankruptcy court, including matters involving automatic stay relief, cash collateral, adequate protection, claim objections, and asset sales.
- Assist with bankruptcy litigation, including adversary proceedings and contested matters.
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on bankruptcy, insolvency, and creditors’ rights issues.
- Draft and review restructuring documents, settlement agreements, and court filings.
- Participate in strategic case planning, including creditor recovery strategies and asset disposition approaches.
- Work closely with the firm’s fiduciary and receivership teams on matters involving distressed assets, operating businesses, and complex financial structures.
- Cook up with financial advisors, accountants, receivers, brokers, and other professionals involved in insolvency proceedings.
- Manage discovery, document review, and case preparation for hearings and litigation.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding case developments, strategy, and risk analysis.
- Support partners in managing active bankruptcy dockets and maintaining organized case workflows.
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of experience practicing bankruptcy, restructuring, or creditors’ rights law.
- Experience representing creditors, lenders, or fiduciaries in bankruptcy or insolvency matters strongly preferred.
- Strong drafting skills and experience preparing bankruptcy motions, pleadings, and court filings.
- Experience handling contested matters or adversary proceedings in bankruptcy court is a plus.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Able to manage multiple matters simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Able to exercise sound judgment and work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Admission to the Florida Bar (or ability to obtain admission promptly).
