Associate Attorney

About the role

Pappas Hayden Westberg & Jackson PC is a creditor’s rights and civil litigation law firm located in Overland Park, KS. They are seeking an attorney licensed and residing in Colorado (with preference for those holding licenses in KS and/or MO).

Responsibilities

• Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests, responses, settlement agreements, and other legal documents as necessary.
• Work in a fast-paced, high-volume role, including managing emails and voicemails.
• Collaborate with support staff and other attorneys to enhance efficiency.
• Communicate professionally and respectfully with clients, opposing attorneys, and pro se litigants.
• Exercise independent judgment regarding case progress and resolution.
• Attend weekly court appearances, including travel, for dockets, motion hearings, and trials.

Requirements

• Minimum office hours of 8:00am to 5:30pm for Full-Time positions.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice law in Colorado.
• Preferred to have licenses in Kansas and Missouri.
• Candidates seeking admission via the July Bar Exam may also be considered.

Skills

• Strong writing and drafting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience with legal research and case management.
• Proficiency in legal software and technology.

Pay

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Schedule
