Responsibilities
- Baking, handling, slicing, and preparing a variety of specialty breads, pastries, and confections
- Ensures all baked goods are completed on time for opening and delivery
- Affords assistance with cake, muffin and cookie decoration as needed
- Maintains records related to baking supplies, deliveries, and production level
- Affords assistance with prepping baked goods for delivery
- Cleans and restocks workstations and ensures all equipment is sanitized and prepped for next shift
- Enforces and follows department practices regarding receiving, stocking, and the unloading deliveries
- Adheres to the company’s freshness and quality standards
- Reads and employs math skills to follow standard recipes and menu specifications
- Performs any other duties as assigned by management
- Assists with the development and implementation of new product ideas
- Receives, opens, and unpacks products/merchandise, checking invoice against items received
- Helps to reduce losses due to shrink, damage, and pilferage
Requirements
- 6 months of baking experience
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen
- Knowledge of bakery equipment and procedures to ensure a quality product
- Reading and math skill for recipes and measurements
- Good attention to detail
- Knowledge of safe food handling procedures and provide current certifications
- Able to work in a hot, hectic environment
- Able to work any shift including weekends
- Able to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift/push up to 25lbs. consistently and 45 lbs. occasionally
