About the role
This position is for an Avionics Maintenance Technician at West Star Aviation. West Star is a rapidly expanding MRO provider with multiple locations across the US.
Responsibilities
- Perform general avionics support items on aircraft, including removal and installation of panels and components and repair work.
- Troubleshoot and evaluate systems on the aircraft when designated.
- Inspect and evaluate the aircraft and components when designated.
- Aircraft movement and performance verification of systems.
- Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling to support operations.
- Work with customer in project management, pricing and customer support roles.
- Work independently on projects.
- Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English.
- Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data bases.
Requirements
- A High school diploma or equivalent.
- Electronics or Avionics factory training is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
- 1+ years of experience on Avionics repair or installations is preferred.
Qualifications
- Self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work under specific deadlines and time constraints.
- Dealing with customers and the capacity to perform work with minimal supervision.
- Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments.
- Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
- Must have reliable transportation to get to work each and every day.
- Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
- Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
- Maintain customer-oriented work habits.
Skills
- Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.
- Troubleshoot, evaluate and perform functional tests for various avionics and instrument systems.

Pay
The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $36.00 - $54.00. Additional compensation in the form of a shift differential will be provided if the employee is assigned to an alternate shift.
Schedule
Varied positions in and around the aircraft. Work is performed in a hangar environment subject to extreme temperature variations from very cold to very hot. Work outside during aircraft runs will occur. Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting. Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands. Standing for long periods of time. Climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas. Basic computer skills.
