Avionics Repair Technician - 1034

About the role

West Star Aviation is seeking a Full-Time, On-Site technician to join our dynamic team in East Alton, IL. This position offers a competitive salary range of $22-$35 per hour, with potential for additional compensation through shift differentials.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on avionics and instrument systems
• Work independently or under supervision, depending on your level of experience
• Ensure compliance with FAA guidelines and company safety protocols
• Handle customer interactions and work within tight deadlines
• Assist in training and mentoring other technicians as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Electronics or Avionics factory training preferred
• A valid driver's license for airline travel or a passport (optional)

Qualifications

• Tech I: 0-2 years of experience in avionics or military avionics
• Tech II: 2-4 years of experience in avionics or military avionics
• Tech III: 4-6 years of experience in avionics or military avionics
• Master Technician: 6+ years of experience with business avionics systems

Skills

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
