Aviation Mechanic II
About the role
Follow guidance and direction of lead and supervision. Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, ventilation, and heating systems. Conduct removal of engines, hubs, and gearboxes from aircraft, using hoist or crane. Service engines and airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition. Perform jacking and towing of aircraft. Ensure aircraft logbook, maintenance documentation, work packages and handovers are completed accurately. Perform regular Foreign Object Damage (FOD) walks. Represent Yulista in a professional manner.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, ventilation, and heating systems.
- Replace or repair worn or damaged components, such as alternators, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
- Disassemble and inspect airframe and other components for wear, cracks, security, or other defects.
- Repair or replace defective parts then reassemble and install in aircraft.
- Service engines and airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition.
- Perform jacking and towing of aircraft.
- Ensure aircraft logbook, maintenance documentation, work packages and handovers are completed accurately.
- Maintain a high state of cleanliness and utilize a clean-as-you-go process when executing maintenance duties.
- Utilize measuring tools such as micrometer, dial caliper, grip gauges, feeler gauge and depth gauge.
- Perform detailed tool inventories daily.
- Strive for efficient work effort in all assigned tasks.
- Perform regular Foreign Object Damage (FOD) walks.
- Comply with processes and procedures as per DHS/Department of Defense (DOD) documents and publications.
- Comply with safety rules and regulations while performing day to day maintenance.
- Promptly report all accidents, injuries, safety, violations, and/or unsafe practices or procedures to supervisor.
- Perform duties of a V-22 Plane Captain in accordance with required publications.
- Absorb and apply knowledge of and experience performing maintenance on the following aircraft: MV22 / CV22 / CMV22.
- Assist in the training and development of junior mechanics.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with 5 years’ aviation experience with 2 years using military standards and specifications.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field required.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to pass a drug and background screening.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
- Previously qualified as APU operator (V22).
- Previously Bladefold/Wingstow qualified (V22).
- Previously held Plane Captain qualification (USMC / USN).
- Previously held Collateral Duty Inspector billet (USMC / USN).
- 7 level (Airforce only)
Qualifications
- Knowledge of and experience performing maintenance on the following aircraft: MV22 / CV22 / CMV22.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, manuals, and specifications to determine requirements.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
- Ability to research technical manuals and identify maintenance requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.
- Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Yulista’s goals.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
