Responsibilities
- Maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft structures as well as structural components of moderate difficulty.
- Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
- Has technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions.
- Applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition to operation.
- Applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufacturers manuals.
- Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician.
- Occasionally leads teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks.
- Makes entries in aircraft logs and records.
- Requires working knowledge of technical publications.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical components, troubleshooting, repair procedures, and replacement of parts.
- Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal, structural modifications, and repairs.
- Basic knowledge of electrical theory.
- Thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers.
- Able to prioritize workload to maintain schedule on assigned projects.
- May require specialization in sheet-metal, electric work, avionics, or other aircraft systems related disciplines.
Additional Requirements
- Aircraft Engine Technician troubleshoots, modifies, repairs, and performs sequential disassembly and assembly of F110-GE-100/100B/100B/129, T34-GE-100A, and F118-GE-101A engines.
- Performs scheduled and unscheduled engine inspections IAW applicable Technical Data.
- Candidates must have one year of experience performing Intermediate Level Jet Engine Maintenance.
- Intermediate Level jet engine repair experience on F100-GE-100/100B/100B/129 engines is highly desired.
