Benning, GA on the UH60 Program supporting the US Army Ranger School.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty.
  • Lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks and make entries in aircraft logs and records.
  • Troubleshoot systems as required to meet customer needs.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness by utilizing a clean-as-you-go process when executing maintenance duties.
  • Perform regular Foreign Object Damage (FOD) walks.
  • Comply with processes and procedures per Department of Defense (DoD) documents and publications.
  • Use Government computer systems to access various technical references for repairs and complete training requirements.
  • Follow drawings, blueprints, instructions, modification work orders (MWO), and technical manuals.
  • Comply with safety rules and regulations while performing day to day maintenance.
  • Promptly report all accidents, injuries, safety violations, and unsafe practices or procedures.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structures, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulics, engines, auxiliary power unit, ventilation, and heating systems.
  • Replace or repair worn and damaged components such as alternators, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
  • Perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.

Requirements

  • Employees may be assigned to one or more work buckets based on operational need and individual qualifications.
  • Additional duties and requirements may apply depending on assignment, including but not limited to:
  • Respirator User/Qualification: Requires successful completion of a respirator medical evaluation, OSHA questionnaire, fit test, and any other medically required screening before assignment and annually thereafter.
  • Sheet Metal Qualified: Requires the ability to lay out, fabricate, assemble, repair, and install sheet metal and composite parts and interpret blueprints and technical data.
  • Avionics Work: Requires thorough knowledge of aircraft electrical and avionics systems, troubleshooting, repair procedures, and parts replacement.
  • Candidates will be evaluated for the assignment specific criteria they are qualified for, final assignment will be based on current business needs, demonstrated experience, and any required certifications, clearances, or medical determinations applicable to the specific assignment.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience with documented training (by validation of qualifying factors to include documented prior military experience and training) on the Model, Designation, Series (MDS) H60 series, they will be performing maintenance actions on or have a current (valid) FAA A&P license and at least one (1) years of documented experience in general aviation.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make rational decisions, and exercise good judgement.
  • Knowledge of military publications (including electronic manuals), drawings, blueprints, microfilm, diagrams and schematics.

Skills

  • Possess effective oral and technical written communication skills
  • Strong professional customer service skills to include active listening, prompt service and follow-up while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality
  • Knowledge of equipment related to individual requirements of UH-60
  • Knowledge of military and/or company forms required by work specifications

Aircraft areas/hangars, workshops, and other industrial settings.

Physical Requirements

  • Required to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
  • Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Most heavy lifting is accomplished using mechanical devices.

Pay

Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
