About the role
The Empire Automotive Group Chevy of Hicksville is seeking certified automotive technicians with dealership experience to join their elite service team. They are particularly interested in candidates with advanced diagnostic skills, deep technical expertise, and a proven track record in servicing GMC vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Performs work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership guidelines.
- Test-drives vehicles and tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Diagnostics, maintains, and repairs vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
- Communicates directly with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed about any additional service needed and provides an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
- Executes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of the service drive.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Dexterity, requiring a steady hand and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Basic computer competencies.
- Positive, friendly attitude along with a customer service mentality.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with ability to collaborate with others effectively.
- Able to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications.
- Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
Qualifications
- Proven diagnostic ability and familiarity with manufacturer standards are a plus.
- GMC and ASE Certification Preferred.
