Automotive Service Advisor

About the role

AAA Club Alliance is seeking a customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to serve as the key connection between customers and in-shop technicians. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.

Pay

The starting base compensation for this position is $24.70 hourly. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Service Advisors are also eligible for additional income through an uncapped monthly performance bonus as well as various spiffs and contests throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, answer telephone calls, and schedule appointments in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Review repairs and services with customers to ensure a complete understanding of the services performed.
• Contact customers when there is a deviation from the original estimate of cost or time when the vehicle will be ready for pickup.
• Note the name and time of approval for all repair/service orders and any additional costs.
• Distribute work to all shop technicians while monitoring progress and accuracy of each job.
• Supply information to technicians as needed.
• Arrange for repairs and payment for vehicles covered by extended warranty programs.
• Arrange towing and/or alternate transportation such as shuttle or rental vehicle when necessary in accordance with Total Repair Care (TRC) standards.
• Monitor inspection dates of vehicles in the system to ensure inspections are completed before due dates.
• Notify customers of the need to have vehicles serviced per manufacturer-recommended intervals and as required by the state, and explain the information to the customer.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in the automotive industry preferred, or three years of relevant experience in a fast-paced environment with a proven sales and customer satisfaction record.
• Knowledge of automotive technology and the ability to communicate the same information to the support team, customers, and auto technicians.
• ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Service Advisor Certification is a plus, but not required.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to complete required pre-employment screenings (background check and drug screening) if offered the position.
• Authorization to work in the USA.
