Automotive Rental Car Coordinator - Farmington Hills, Michigan, United States

About the Role

The Rental Car Coordinator will assist customers with product rentals, including identifying useful products, reserving, renting, and returning items. Responsibilities

• Consult with customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate products.
• Answer inquiries regarding product options, availability, cost, and rental lengths.
• Reserve items and maintain records of reservations.
• Complete or acquire required forms and supplemental documentation such as licenses or proof of insurance.
• Explain rental policies to customers and obtain signatures confirming their understanding.
• Explain proper use and care of products to customers.
• Record customer orders; collect deposits, rental fees, and other payments at rental or return.
• Retrieve merchandise for customers, assist with loading equipment, and restock returned products.
• Inspect products on return to ensure they are clean, in good repair, and, when applicable, refilled or otherwise maintained according to the rental agreement.
• Identify and tag products that need repair, cleaning, or modification before restocking.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Experience in sales or customer service (preferred).

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking around the rental facility.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to wash and vacuum vehicles.
• Prepared to work outside in various weather conditions.
