Job Responsibilities
- Manage the full parts sales process with accuracy and professionalism.
- Communicate clearly and courteously with customers, technicians, and internal staff.
- Provide timely updates regarding parts status and availability.
- Read and interpret parts catalogs to identify and source correct components.
- Answer incoming calls, provide price quotes, and assist customers with parts inquiries.
- Review body shop estimates to confirm correct parts and pricing alignment.
- Deliver high-level service to both internal and external customers.
- Pull and fill orders from stock; perform weekly bin checks to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Notify the parts manager of out-of-stock items or urgent shop material needs.
- Locate out-of-stock parts through outside vendors and place emergency orders when needed.
- Ensure all internal parts requests are properly billed on service repair orders.
- Process payments from retail customers and secure credit authorization when required.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior auto parts counter experience preferred (dealership or aftermarket).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret safety, maintenance, and technical documents.
- Basic math skills, including calculating discounts, percentages, proportions, and measurements.
- A customer-first mindset with the ability to build trust and deliver outstanding service.
- Reliability, enthusiasm, and a positive team-oriented attitude.
- Openness to coaching, feedback, and continuous improvement.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Strong computer and multitasking abilities.
