Responsibilities
- Achieve forecasted goals and objectives for the department.
- Maintain CSI above national average.
- Maintain sales efficiency above 100% of manufacturer requirement.
- Recruit, hire, train, motivate, develop, and hold accountable all members of the sales team.
- Prepare a monthly and annual budget and plan to meet goals and objectives.
- Follow company guidelines and protect the legal welfare of the company by:
- Understanding and complying with federal, state, and local regulations that affect vehicle sales.
- Processing all paperwork required by federal, state, and local laws.
- Reviewing deal files and documents related to federal, state, and county law for completeness and accuracy.
- Conducting training meetings for salespeople and sales managers regarding the portion of their job that relates to the legal handling and processing of documents and how that relates to federal, state, local laws and regulations.
- Work closely with other department managers to ensure cooperation and teamwork throughout the dealership.
- Attend and participate in weekly manager meetings to review objectives, tracking numbers, and safety/compliance issues.
- Create schedule for sales department employees.
- Hold daily one-on-one planning and review meetings with each sales manager/team leader to review their current team goals, performance, and plans.
- Develop and organize a training schedule, as directed by the GM, to ensure that each sales associate receives sales training and/or role-playing sessions daily.
- Guide sales managers and assist them in setting their short and long-term goals and objectives.
- Assist sales managers in developing programs of improvement for those sales associates who are failing to reach their objectives.
- Ensure all sales associates adhere to Company Values and take corrective action when necessary.
- Recommend to the GM the new and used vehicle inventory to be carried.
- Teach, train, and ensure that the sales team is following up with all leads per company standards.
- Aid in the development of advertising campaigns and other promotions.
Requirements
- 3-5 years previous management experience within a dealership environment.
- Proven success in driving results and developing talent within a dealership.
- High School diploma, college degree preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend job-related instructions and information whether electronic or paper based.
- Results Orientation - the ability to plan and achieve business goals within the timelines established.
- Teamwork - ability to work with others to effectively enhance results or processes.
- Interpersonal Skills - the ability to interact and communicate well with employees and customers at all levels, socially poised.

- Deals creatively and logically with any problems that arise, while expressing empathy for customers and their problems.
Skills
- Strong leadership skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of dealership operations and procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
