Automotive General Sales Manager
Sales Leadership & Team Development
Lead, coach, and motivate sales teams to achieve performance goals and maximize profitability.
Train sales staff on closing techniques, customer experience, and best sales practices through active leadership and mentorship.
Conduct daily and weekly sales meetings and performance coaching sessions.
Mentor both new and experienced sales professionals to improve productivity and results.
Hire, develop, and monitor performance of New & Used Car Sales teams, Internet Sales, Finance Managers, and Service Drive Sales teams.
Customer Experience & Sales Operations
Maintain strong Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Ensure proper follow-up procedures are executed through effective CRM processes and accountability.
Establish and monitor vehicle delivery procedures to ensure exceptional customer experiences.
Guarantee each delivery includes a proper service department introduction and first service appointment scheduling.
Performance & Profitability
Achieve monthly and annual dealership sales, gross profit, and expense objectives.
Partner with dealership leadership to drive showroom traffic, internet lead conversion, and overall sales growth.
Monitor and improve sales processes, lead management, and department performance metrics.
Support used vehicle operations including inventory acquisition, merchandising, and marketing strategies.
Assist in improving F&I profitability through leadership, training, and process development.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of GSM experience overseeing variable operations within a successful dealership.
Proven track record of building, developing, and leading high-performing sales teams.
Strong history of achieving above-average CSI scores, gross profits, and dealership performance metrics.
Experience driving showroom traffic, internet sales growth, and marketing initiatives.
Strong understanding of CRM systems, lead management, SEO/SEM, and digital retail strategies.
Leadership experience overseeing BDC operations and sales process accountability.
Knowledge of used vehicle purchasing, merchandising, and inventory management.
Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills.
