About the role
As an Automation Technician I, you will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of our Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS).
Responsibilities
- Perform regular maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on ASRS and related automation equipment, ensuring minimal downtime with OSHA and operational standards.
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting activities in elevated work areas, including the use of fall protection equipment in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Collaborate with the operations team to optimize ASRS system performance, including adjustments to improve efficiency, reliability, and throughput.
- Maintain parts inventory and repair records for all equipment by completing accurate paperwork.
- Absorb and communicate abuse or damages to onsite personnel with a detailed description of the problem.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols while performing maintenance or repair tasks.
- Use repair manuals, parts manuals, parts diagrams to troubleshoot all automated systems to include all conveyor systems.
- Communicate with onsite personnel about the need for repairs or maintenance.
- Responsible for general cleanliness of service area.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, G.E.D. or tech school graduate required.
- 0 – 2 years of mechanic experience; preferably prior experience with repair and maintenance, automated systems, and conveyors, or similar equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems on multiple types of equipment and systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to quickly diagnose and resolve issues.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical team members.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Self-motivated, self-directed, highly responsible, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to frequently lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to safely operate lift trucks, scissor lifts and boom lifts.

Travel Requirements
This position is expected to travel approximately 25% or less. A passport is not required, but recommended.
