Automation Eng Technician II

Essential Functions

• Affords assistance in the development and implementation of automation systems or components.
• Supports or performs the program installation, testing, and maintenance of robots or automated components.
• Assists in the commissioning and deployment of new automation installations.
• Conducts field trials to ensure appropriate operation and prepares reports or records documenting actions or findings.
• Investigates and troubleshoots defects or bugs, completes repairs, and provides preventative maintenance.
• Maintains the inventory of supplies and tools used for testing and maintenance.

Required Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
• Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree, Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred
• Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills, Ability to meet deadlines, Detail oriented, Problem-solving skills, Mathematic skills, Computer skills, Technical skills, Technical troubleshooting, Test documentation, Control systems

Physical Requirements

• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
• May need to stand for long periods of time.
• Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
• May be requested to work a different shift.
• Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
