Automation Technician II

About the role

Kenco Logistics is a leading 3PL provider focused on innovation, integrity, and employee growth. This role is within Kenco Fleet Services, where you'll contribute to the reliable operation of the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS).

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on ASRS and related automation equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues within the ASRS.
• Collaborate with the operations team to optimize ASRS system performance.
• Participate in the installation and commissioning of new ASRS components or systems.
• Maintain parts inventory and repair records.
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols.
• Use repair manuals, parts manuals, and diagrams to troubleshoot automated systems.
• Communicate any abuse damages to onsite personnel.
• Train operations staff on basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, G.E.D., or tech school graduate required.
• 2 - 5 years of mechanic experience, preferably in repair and maintenance, automated systems, and conveyors.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and PLC components of complex automation systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Self-motivated, self-directed, highly responsible, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to frequently lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Able to safely operate lift trucks, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.

Travel Requirements

This position is expected to travel approximately 25% or less. A passport is not required, but recommended.
