About the role
The Automation Technician II at Daifuku takes on advanced responsibilities in troubleshooting and maintenance of material handling equipment. With previous experience in the industry, you'll lead troubleshooting efforts, and mentor Automation Technician I colleagues. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of industry experience or equivalent, and familiarity with material handling equipment and PLCs.
Responsibilities
- Uses advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair mechanical problems.
- Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings.
- Minimizes downtime and unsafe conditions by performing preventative and predictive maintenance.
- Leads troubleshooting efforts for complex equipment issues.
- Mentors and trains Automation Technician I colleagues.
- Develops and implements preventive maintenance programs.
- Updates technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborates with engineering teams on design changes and upgrades.
- Documents maintenance activities and repairs.
- Follows all OSHA and internal safety standards.
Requirements
- 2 years working in material handling industry preferred or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience with CMMS platform a plus.
- Familiarity with material handling equipment and PLCs.
- Familiarity with material handling equipment and knowledge of function.
- Working knowledge of handheld and power tools.
- Basic knowledge of PLCs and motor control.
- Advanced ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, moderate electrical, and controls defects.
- Advanced ability to interpret both mechanical and electric drawings and schematics.
- Self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented.
- Knowledge of safe industrial work practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service orientation.
- Ability to work in and contribute to a team setting.
- Intermediate computer skills including MS Office.
- Ability to guide and teach Automation Tech I.
- Support SOP creation and technical documentation.
- Ability to assist in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all material handling equipment and components (plus).
Pay
$30.00 - $38.00 USD per hour
