Autocare Technician Apprentice

About the role

Join a BYD dealership as an EV Apprentice and gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge electric vehicle technology while completing a Level 2 Autocare Technician Apprenticeship, with progression to the Level 3 Motor Vehicle Technician standard. You’ll work alongside experienced technicians in a well-established garage workshop, learning all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance.

Evans Halshaw is one of the UK’s largest automotive retail groups, operating over 100 dealerships nationwide and representing 10 major automotive brands, including Citroen, Dacia, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault, and Vauxhall.

Responsibilities

• Learn vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, and major component removal, replacement, and overhaul
• Diagnose and rectify chassis units, engine components, and electrical faults
• Support maintenance and repair of electric and hybrid vehicles
• Carry out vehicle inspections and servicing
• Assist with diagnostics and fault finding
• Follow safe working practices, especially around EV systems
• Maintain good workshop housekeeping
• Contribute to reducing health and safety risks

Requirements

• GCSE Level 4 or above in Maths and English

A full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm (40 hours per week).
