What Might a Typical Day in this Job Look Like?

  • Learn all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, removal, replacement and overhaul of major components and electrical fault diagnostics.
  • Support the maintenance and repair of electric and hybrid vehicles.
  • Learn how to carry out vehicle inspections and servicing.
  • Assist with diagnostics and fault finding.
  • Work with experienced technicians in a modern workshop environment.
  • Follow safe working practices, especially around EV systems.
  • Contribute to workplace good housekeeping.
  • Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety.

What Will I Learn?

  • Industry-recognised Autocare level 2 and motor vehicle technician standard.
  • Hands-on experience with EV technology and diagnostics.
  • Skills in vehicle maintenance, repair, and inspection.

Qualifications or Qualities Required

  • GCSE Level 4 or above in Maths and English.

Personal Qualities Required

  • A genuine interest in cars and electric vehicles.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • You can prioritize and work to timelines.
  • A willingness to work in a practical environment using your own initiative.

Hours Work

Monday to Friday
8am – 5pm
40 Hours
