Auto Damage Trainee
About the role
GEICO is seeking motivated individuals with a passion for customer service and an interest in our Auto Damage Trainee program. The role involves helping our customers when they need us most after an accident and assisting them in getting back on the road.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and assess vehicle damage caused by all types of accidents
- Estimate vehicle repair costs and negotiate equitable settlements
- Partner with other adjusters and supervisors to work with body shops, rental partners, and parts providers
- Travel within assigned territory to body shops, salvage and tow yards, and sometimes customers' homes to write estimates, inspect damage, and interact with the public
- Work independently and with your team to ensure appointments and customer follow-up are handled in a timely manner
Requirements
- Service-driven personality
- Ability to multitask and navigate through multiple business applications
- Strong computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with KPIs and measurable goals
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree preferred
- Active Insurance Adjusters license preferred
Qualifications
Highly critical thinking and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with customers. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
- Computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of insurance adjuster practices and procedures
Benefits
The starting salary for a Trainee Adjuster is $32.05 per hour/$64,575 annually. Pay
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
Schedule
This is a field role requiring travel within the assigned territory. Any candidate(s) selected for the role would be assigned a GEICO fleet vehicle and would be responsible for covering the Anchorage, AK area.
