About the role
Weaver’s Public Sector practice is looking to add new team members at the Associate level. An Audit Associate performs audit procedures, works closely with Senior Associates and Managers to resolve issues, develops clear workpaper techniques, assists with financial statement preparation, and creates a professional development plan with their group leader. The role offers flexibility, meaningful client work, and a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform audit procedures as assigned on engagements
- Work with Senior Associates and Managers to identify and resolve audit issues
- Develop effective and clear workpaper techniques
- Assist with financial statement preparation
- Create and follow a professional development plan with a group leader
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA candidate
- 1-2+ years of public accounting or industry experience, or a combination of both
- Experience with Governmental clients (e.g., counties, cities, school districts, not-for-profit, higher education)
- Basic familiarity with GAAP and GAAS
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Team orientation and strong interpersonal skills
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA certification
