Pay

$44,648.45 - $66,079.70 annually

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or higher
  • Four (4) years of live performance production and operation and maintenance of audio-visual equipment experience
  • One (1) year of supervisory experience
  • Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state by time of appointment

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and production of events in various City departments, including the Zoo amphitheater or Mexican American Cultural Center (MACC)
  • Arrange props and equipment for events and live performances
  • Operate and monitor audio-visual equipment, including:
    • Theater-grade projection system
    • Multi-channel digital audio mixer
    • Wireless diversity receiver
    • Digital video switcher
    • Wireless microphone system
    • Dynamic lighting system
  • Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment to enhance live performance events
  • Provide technical support for live performance events
  • Inspect and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment for defects and perform routine maintenance
  • Report complicated equipment repairs to immediate supervisor
  • Serve as a liaison between the Museums, Mexican American Cultural Center, Library, Zoo Amphitheater, and other City venues
  • Attend related meetings involving vendors and others
  • Assist in the purchase of materials, equipment, and office supplies within approved budget and purchasing requirements
  • Identify vendors and best prices
  • Design or oversee the development and production of annual reports, presentations, displays, and visual aids, including:
    • Recording attendance numbers for amphitheater events and live performances
    • Researching, developing, and producing video presentations for amphitheater or MACC monitors and screens
    • Researching, photographing, digitizing images, and compiling images and data
    • Using scanners, color copiers, laser printers, and related software
    • Operating computers and utilizing graphics software programs to develop images and layouts
    • Marking up, pasting, and assembling final layouts for printing
    • Consulting with MACC programmatic staff, graphic technicians, animal care workers, and other professionals regarding accuracy of graphics and text
  • Supervise assigned staff, including:
    • Scheduling, assigning, instructing, guiding, and checking work
    • Appraising employee performance
    • Providing training and development
    • Enforcing personnel rules, regulations, and work behavior standards
    • Counseling, motivating, and maintaining harmony
    • Interviewing applicants
    • Recommending hiring, termination, discipline, or other employee status changes
