Under general supervision, this position facilitates the efficient functioning of city meetings, including Council and Planning and Zoning meetings. The role supports the City's Video Production team by ensuring audiovisual equipment is operational, assisting in AV conference rooms, coordinating support for Crestron installations, and overseeing overhead paging support and installation. Installation tasks include setting up TVs, projectors, overhead paging systems, and digital signs.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to assess AV and Telecom requirements and propose effective solutions.
- Plans, installs, configures, and maintains AV systems and related technologies.
- Collaborates with vendors and service providers to optimize AV solutions and manage vendor relationships.
- Provides technical support for AV issues, resolving incidents promptly to minimize downtime.
- Stays abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in AV to recommend and implement continuous improvements.
- Conducts training sessions for end-users on AV systems and ensures proper utilization and troubleshooting awareness.
- Develops and maintains documentation for AV systems, including configuration details and troubleshooting procedures.
- Participates in the planning and execution of IT projects related to AV Technologies.
- Occasionally assists Service Desk with daily operations.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Three (3) years minimum experience working with Audio Visual equipment.
- Initiative to manage multiple tasks independently with little direct supervision.
- Proven experience as an IT Specialist with a focus on AV.
- In-depth knowledge of AV technologies, including video conferencing solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for AV issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Apple TV, Solstice, Digital Sign, Overhead paging system, Spectrum Cable, Crestron, Cisco, and projector support.
- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., CompTIA IT Fundamentals, Cisco CCNA).
- Extron Pro DSP Specialist.
- Crestron Certified Audio Technician.
- Crestron Core Certification.
- DMC-E-4K Certification.
Conditions of Employment
- Must pass a drug screen and background check.
- Must have a Class C Texas Driver’s License.
- Must pass CIJS Certification due to access to secured areas and/or information.
Physical Demands
Tasks require the ability to exert moderate physical effort, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. May involve lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects and materials up to 50 pounds. Tasks also require the ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals and communicate orally. Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
