About the role
Carter Creek Winery Resort & Spa in Johnson City, Texas is hiring an Audio Visual Specialist to provide technical assistance and support for audio visual systems, hardware, and software. This role is responsible for audio-visual and technical support for events, conferences, and trainings at a premiere winery resort featuring a restaurant, brewery, banquets, and special events.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and break down audio visual equipment for events including meetings, conferences, weddings, banquets, and live music performances
- Coordinate with event managers, banquet teams, and clients to understand and execute audio visual requirements
- Operate soundboards, microphones, lighting, projectors, screens, and video equipment during events
- Monitor and adjust audio and visual elements in real time to ensure optimal quality and guest experience
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently during live events
- Conduct pre-event testing and post-event breakdown of all equipment
- Maintain, organize, and store audio visual equipment, ensuring it is clean, functional, and event-ready
- Assist with staging, lighting design, and basic production support for performances and special events
- Provide technical support for internal meetings, trainings, and resort-wide presentations
- Train staff on basic use of audio visual equipment when needed
- Maintain inventory of audio visual equipment and report repair or replacement needs
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper handling of all equipment
- Maintain clear and professional communication with team members and guests
- Attend departmental meetings as required
- Maintain positive working relationships with all resort team members
Requirements
- One year previous experience as an AV Specialist or equivalent education
Working Conditions
- Spends approximately equal amounts of time indoors and outdoors
- Indoor: temperature-controlled, clean, and well-lighted offices, guest rooms, and public areas
- Outdoor: may be exposed to weather conditions in uncovered areas
- May work on wet concrete and uneven tile
- Moderate exposure to hazardous substances and fumes
Physical Demands
- Stands and walks short to moderate distances through shift
- Bends, stoops, and reaches to perform routine job tasks
- Routinely required to handle and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. over moderate distances
