We are looking for an experienced Attorney/Lawyer to join a legal team in Seattle, Washington. The team is open-minded on background and welcomes strong attorneys from a variety of practice areas, including criminal law, prosecution, public defense, government, litigation-focused practices, and judicial clerks.
About the role
This role focuses on complex litigation matters involving insurance coverage, construction defect, product liability, detail-oriented liability, and general civil disputes.
Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda.
- Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategy.
- Handle depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances.
- Collaborate directly with partners on complex insurance and commercial disputes.
- Communicate regularly with clients, carriers, claims professionals, and opposing counsel.
- Participate in trial preparation and support litigation through verdict when necessary.
- Analyze coverage issues and provide practical risk-management guidance to clients.
Requirements
- Active license to practice law and good standing in the applicable jurisdiction.
- Demonstrated experience handling civil litigation matters through multiple stages of the legal process.
- Strong ability to draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and discovery documents with precision and clarity.
- Proven legal research and analytical skills for evaluating complex factual and legal issues.
- Experience representing clients in formal proceedings such as hearings, depositions, mediations, or trials.
- Effective communication and client relationship skills, with the ability to explain legal matters clearly.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail when managing deadlines, files, and procedural requirements.
